The Brian Wilkins Prize

Nominations of outstanding young scientists for the Brian Wilkins Memorial Prize will be accepted until August 27th, 2010.

Eligible scientists are at an early phase of their career and committed to studying mobile genetic elements, horizontal gene transfer or properties linked to these topics. It is expected that the work on which the award will be based should have been carried out during postgraduate studies or the first three years of laboratory work following award of their PhD. Candidates must be planning to attend PB2008 - there is no specific help with travel and registration costs. Short-listed candidates will be expected to deliver a short talk on their work. The Prize is $1,000 to be spent in whatever way best supports their career development. The Rules and Application Procedure can be found at http://www.ispb.org/Prizes/Rules.htm.
